Dec. 4th, 2005 11:29 amIt's rather hit-or-miss. With no knowledge about the parodied targets, I find the parodies themselves make simply surreal reads. His mock celebrity interviews entirely fall into this category:
"Oh, I can't, can't I?" I retorted, not a little piqued. "Well, it was just a coincidence."
Dreisler looked at me half quizzically.
"You win," he said simply.
Another head-scratcher, purportedly modeled on Mr. Thomas Beer.

__ She was to hear Marion Tally before nervous wreckers dragged to earth the old Metropolitan, like avid vultures of architectural progress.
In one article subtitled 'in the manner of the Authors of Theatrical Reminiscences', the only thing I understood was that the playbill had some big names on it: Mr Junius Booth, Mr Edmund Keene, Mrs Siddons, Miss Cushman.
