If you have seen flyers from Trader Joe's, you can pretty much imagine what Karen Elizabeth Gordon's grammar guide looks like. After attending a concert which featured songs with lyrics like 'when the pilot inside is crisp', I was rather Dada-ed out. Otherwise, I might have afforded this book more than glances.

• The famous courtesan, Mog Cinders, was an accomplished lepidopterist, too.
• By confessing her culpabilities, she cleared the way for more.
• (Accompanying an illustration of an elegantly dressed couple in literal high spirits:) We roughed it begrudgingly.
