3 Philip K. Dick stories
Oct. 1st, 2009 10:57 pmThe three are "The Minority Report", "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale", and "Paycheck". I didn't realize that even the last one has been adapted into a movie. The twin questions posed here are obviously: what if we can see the future, darkly; and what if our memory of the past isn't. A minor common theme the three stories share is woman are unreliable.
The protagonist in "The Minority Report" swerves too much in his purpose for my liking or suspended disbelief.
The twist ending in "We..." is fanciful and almost too cute for a Philip K. Dick story.
"Paycheck" features both a time-scoop and a camera that uses film.
