The collection wore my patience very thin at various points, and the third disc has managed to discourage me from attending any poetry jams in the future. However, it's not wholly irredeemable, there are a few clever conceits and phrases:

1. a love affair with Literature, which leads to pick-up lines like 'I've been reading you all my life.'
2. 'Throughout my life, I've been there.'
3. 'the indifferent wetness of the ocean'
4. hunting for slaves in Manhattan with a tranquilizer gun
5. a country diary patterned after "A Provincial Lady"

After Mr. Pollack, I had my fill of the McSweeney crowd for a while, and bid a hasty adieu to "The Areas of My Expertise". Will strive to catch more of John Hodgman on "This American Life".

Noted so far:
1. attribution to 'The Argentine National Poultry and Rabbit Inspector's Almanac of Facts and Fictions'
2. 'I confess I am not a fan of this work, as Franklin seems to have been pretty sloppy, accidentally putting in Fs for every S.'
3. 'History has shown us again and again that facts are not what most humans believe. They are not that which moves most men and women to love or hate or jo or crime.'
