fiefoeI was hoping to enjoy the late Will Eisner's work more, but this is like Dick Tracy without the noir element.
The most memorable episode is "Beautiful Andrew". The opening panel has Spirit slung over the shoulder of a Valkyrie in a green dress, and the titular villain of the piece is a gorgeous killer in drag.
Some rather weak puns were indulged: 'A kitnapper stole her kitten while she was taking a catnap'; 'copper for a cop! but i'm the spirit.. i enjoy a spirited laugh!'
A pineapple is slang for a hand grenade. Makes sense.
Lupin of "Lupin III" is cheeky. That's what we like about this international man of mystery, but by volume 10, Monkey Punch has stopped bothering with a cohesive plot. Da-me.
