For sometime now, I've thinking of collecting Chinese idioms and translating them into English. Sometimes a situation is so aptly described by some Chinese idiom that I can't help but translating them and explaining them to Andy -- who naturally misses the piquancy of the original but appreciates the phrases for their novelty value.

* We might as well accompany Buddha all the way to the West Heavens.

* Even fingers grow different length.

* He's a land-only duck.

* Plant flowers, you harvest flowers; plant beans, you harvest beans.

* It's hard to get off a tiger once you get on it.

* It's only a blank check.
