True to form, Loretta Chase gives us a sharp-tongued heroine ('attempting to explain to you... would be an expenditure of breath to no purpose') who flounces well. The well-trodden Regency period also provides us improbable names like Tryphena.

It's a more strenuous read than I'd like at the moment though, since the book is set in Egypt. We get the works - dark smelly passageways inside the Pyramids, unscrupulous archaeologists, sailing down the Nile, sandstorms.

Other notes: Giovanni Belzoni. FK @ p166, first name basis (with lapses) from p221.

From 'In Passing': (courtesy of Yihua)

"I never even knew it was possible to have feelings one way or another about a drawer organizer. About hanging shelves. Now I've never wanted anything more in my life."
"I won't protest if you start reading Harlequins again."
