Oh the glamour -

One would have never guessed that "Closing time" (off their second album, 'an emotional lifeboat')  is a song about being sent forth from the womb as if by a bouncer clearing out a bar. Also, the reader is becoming quite well-informed about the music business, much aspect of which sounds illogical, backward and/or sleazy: independent radio promoters, payola, recoupable debt, Soundscan.

This is the third book I've read that has its origin on the web, and this in my opinion has made the best transition to print. (For the record, the other two are the inestimable "Things My Girlfriend And I Have Argued About", and "Why Girls are Weird".)
